Indian Railways has officially launched a new daily express service connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai with Sawantwadi Road in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. This strategic addition to the rail network covers a distance of 510 kilometers and is designed to provide seamless connectivity for tourists, daily commuters, students, and traders across the Konkan belt. By offering a direct and reliable travel link, this service aims to boost regional development and simplify travel for thousands of passengers who rely on the Konkan route for their daily needs.
- Train Numbers: 15087 (CSMT to Sawantwadi Road) and 15088 (Return journey).

Strategic Connectivity Across Konkan
The new service is set to be a game-changer for residents along the Konkan line. The train will serve a total of 22 stations, including major transit points and smaller towns such as Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Sawarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adavali, Vilavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavli, Sindhudurg, Kudal, and finally Sawantwadi Road. This extensive list of stops ensures that passengers in remote areas gain better access to the Mumbai metropolitan region.

This initiative was made possible following approval from the Ministry of Railways and reflects the proactive efforts of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to address the growing demand for rail travel in Maharashtra.
