This comprehensive task includes earthwork, the construction of new bridges, the installation of Overhead Equipment (OHE), and major station yard remodeling to accommodate increased traffic.

To support the region’s transformation into an industrial hub, the Uttar Pradesh government approved a ₹497 crore infrastructure package on August 1, 2026, for the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA). This funding, under the Atal Industrial Infrastructure Mission, will work in tandem with the railway expansion to support key centers like Jhansi.
