The Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express will add more coaches due to high demand.
A new update has come for the Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express. Starting from September 9, four additional Chair Car coaches will be added to the train service. This is happening because many passengers want to travel on this route.
With these new coaches, the train will now have a total of 20 coaches, including 18 Chair Cars and 2 Executive Class coaches. The Southern Railway has announced this change after getting approval from the Ministry of Railways.
The service was already increased in May this year, when the number of coaches was doubled. This latest addition is happening just three months after that change. The train service was first extended to Mangaluru Central on March 13, 2024.
Train No. 20631 leaves Mangaluru Central at 6:25 AM and reaches Thiruvananthapuram Central by 3:05 PM. The return train, No. 20632, departs from Thiruvananthapuram at 4:05 PM and arrives in Mangaluru at 12:40 AM. The fares are ₹1,615 for Chair Car and ₹2,945 for Executive Class.
These services have become very popular because they cover the 620-km distance much faster than other trains, taking about 8 hours and 40 minutes. The addition of coaches means around 300 more seats will be available for passengers.
