Passengers travelling on the Runicha Express (Train No. 14087/14088) between Delhi and Jaisalmer should prepare for route changes in August and September. Indian Railways has announced that the train will be diverted for a total of 44 trips to facilitate essential track doubling and modernization projects. Key details of the disruption include:
- Diversion Period: August 12 to September 24.
- New Route: Via Rewari-Alwar-Jaipur-Phulera instead of the regular Rewari-Ringas-Phulera route.
- Additional Stops: Alwar, Bandikui, Dausa, Gandhinagar Jaipur, and Jaipur Junction.
- Reason: Non-interlocking blocks and doubling work on the Phulera-Ringas-Rewari and Ajmer-Chanderiya sections.
Infrastructure Upgrades for Better Connectivity
The decision to divert the Runicha Express comes as part of a larger push by the Jodhpur, Jaipur, and Ajmer Divisions to upgrade rail infrastructure. According to Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Hitesh Yadav and Divisional Railway Manager Anurag Tripathi, the ongoing work is vital for improving track strength and stability. By carrying out these non-interlocking blocks between Kund, Pali, and Khori stations, the Railways aims to enhance the safety and efficiency of the network in the long run.
What Passengers Should Expect
While the diversion may slightly alter travel times, the inclusion of additional stoppages at Alwar, Bandikui, Dausa, Gandhinagar Jaipur, and Jaipur Junction is intended to minimize inconvenience for passengers during this period. The modernization efforts are a necessary step toward upgrading the rail corridor, which will ultimately result in smoother train operations and reduced congestion on these busy sections.
Passengers are advised to check the latest status of their bookings via the IRCTC website or the NTES app before heading to the station. These infrastructure projects, though causing temporary changes to schedules, are critical for the future of rail travel in the region, ensuring that the tracks can handle higher traffic with greater reliability.
