Indian Railways and IRCTC have started a new service from Sunday, where they will serve local vegetarian food on the Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express. This new initiative aims to give passengers a taste of the delicious food from Jammu and Kashmir.

IRCTC Chairman mentioned that this move is to help passengers experience the authentic flavors of Kashmir. The kitchen will be modern and hygienic, using airline-style Teflon casseroles and eco-friendly trays for serving the food.
Some special dishes on the menu include Dogra-style Ambal Kaddu, Bharwa Puri Babru, and Jammu Paratha for breakfast, while for lunch, options like Paneer Chaman, Kashmiri Dum Aloo, and Jammu Rajma will be available. There will also be choices like Upma, Poha, and vegetarian cutlets for those who prefer other Indian dishes.
