Commuters and local representatives in Taraori have intensified their efforts to upgrade facilities at the Taraori railway station. The Rail Yatri Welfare Association has formally requested MLA Bhagwandas Kabirpanthi to intervene with railway authorities to address critical infrastructure and service gaps. The key demands raised by the association include:
- Resumption of the Dadar Express halt at Taraori station to serve local commuters.
- Installation of CCTV cameras to enhance passenger safety and station surveillance.
- Establishment of an RPF (Railway Protection Force) post for immediate security assistance.
The Need for Dadar Express Connectivity
The Rail Yatri Welfare Association, led by President Ramesh Gupta, emphasized that while most basic passenger amenities at Taraori station have been completed, the restoration of the Dadar Express halt remains a top priority. Currently, daily commuters from Taraori and surrounding villages are forced to travel to nearby stations to board this train. The association argues that given the high passenger volume in the region, providing a halt at Taraori would offer significant relief to the local population and improve connectivity to major cities.
Boosting Station Safety and Security
Beyond train operations, the association has highlighted the urgent need for a more robust security framework at the station premises. Installing CCTV cameras is considered essential to monitor suspicious activities and ensure the safety of passengers. Furthermore, the members stressed that the establishment of an RPF post would provide a vital layer of protection, ensuring a rapid response mechanism during any untoward incidents. The association has urged the Railway Department to take a positive and swift decision on these pending demands to ensure a safer and more convenient travel experience for all passengers.
The meeting regarding these demands was attended by Station Master Balinger Singh, Malkit Singh, Mohit Kumar, and several members of the Rail Yatri Welfare Association, including Naresh Mittal, Charandev Kamra, Vijay Singla, and others who collectively voiced their support for these essential upgrades.
