The Ministry of Railways has officially confirmed the commencement of regular operations for the Gorakhpur-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express. Following approval from the Railway Board on August 10, 2026, the North Eastern Railway (NER) has been entrusted with the management and maintenance of this new service, which aims to bridge the gap in affordable travel for lower and lower-middle-income commuters between Uttar Pradesh and the national capital.
- Service frequency: Weekly operations starting August 27, 2026.
- Train numbers: 15095 (Gorakhpur to Delhi) and 15096 (Delhi to Gorakhpur).
- Speed and distance: Covers 780 kilometers at a maximum speed of 130 kmph in roughly 14 hours.
- Coach configuration: 22 coaches equipped with advanced push-pull technology.
Schedule and Route Details
For passengers planning their travel, Train 15095 is scheduled to depart from Gorakhpur every Thursday at 10:45 PM, reaching Delhi at 12:50 PM the following day. The return service, Train 15096, will depart from Delhi every Friday at 2:00 PM and arrive back in Gorakhpur at 6:25 AM on Saturday. The inaugural run from Gorakhpur is set for August 27, 2026, while the first return service from Delhi will follow on August 28, 2026.
The route has been strategically planned to serve key transit hubs. The train will pass through Gonda, with confirmed stoppages at Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda, Burhwal, Sitapur, Bareilly, Moradabad, and Ghaziabad.
