Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Jogbani-Danapur Vande Bharat Express train on Monday through a video call from Purnia. This event marks the beginning of a new travel option for people in Bihar.
The train’s first journey will start from Forbesganj at 3:30 PM and reach Danapur at 11:40 PM on the same day. Regular services for passengers will begin from September 17, which is just around the corner.
On its regular schedule, the train will leave Danapur at 5:10 PM and arrive in Jogbani at 1:20 AM. For the return trip, it will depart from Jogbani at 3:25 AM and reach Danapur by 11:30 AM the same day. It will cover a distance of 453 km in about 8 hours.
This new Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week, except on Tuesdays, and will have eight coaches. It will make stops at important stations along the way, including Purnia Junction and Muzaffarpur.
With this addition, Bihar now has another semi-high-speed train service. Patna Junction is becoming a key station for several express trains, enhancing travel options for passengers across different routes.
