What’s inside:

A train accident involving the Vande Bharat Express and two cows occurred near Fatehpur Sikri, disrupting service temporarily.

On Monday afternoon, around 3:30 PM, the Vande Bharat Express train, traveling from Agra to Udaipur, hit two cows near the Fatehpur Sikri railway station. This unfortunate incident resulted in the deaths of both cows and caused damage to the front part of the train’s engine.

The train was moving at a speed of 70 km/h and had just passed 500 meters beyond the Fatehpur Sikri station when the cows suddenly appeared on the tracks. The train’s pilot quickly applied the emergency brakes to stop the train in time.

Due to the impact, the train had to halt for about half an hour for repairs. Passengers were allowed to get off the train during this time. Once the engine was fixed, the train resumed its journey to Udaipur at 4 PM.

Vande Bharat Express operates three days a week between Agra and Udaipur. On the day of the accident, the train had reached Agra on time and left for Udaipur as scheduled. It’s essential for passengers and railway authorities to be aware of such incidents for safety.

This isn’t the first time such accidents have happened in this area. Last year, a couple lost their lives when they were hit by another train at the same spot. Locals have been requesting the construction of boundary walls along the tracks for a safer railway experience.

Summary:

  • Vande Bharat Express hit two cows near Fatehpur Sikri.

  • Both cows died, and the train’s engine was damaged.

  • The train stopped for repairs for about half an hour.

  • Passengers were allowed to disembark during the delay.

  • Calls for safety measures like boundary walls are ongoing.
