Trains will soon start operating at a speed of 160 km/hr on the DDUGJ-Gaya-Dhanbad railway line. Speed trials have been successfully conducted three times, and preparations are in the final stages. Discussions are ongoing with senior officials and local authorities before commencing train operations at this speed.

 

The railway tracks have been completely repaired before running trains at high speeds. Various maintenance works have been carried out, including changing sleepers, slabs, and rails multiple times. The track inspection has been done using modern machines to ensure smooth operations.

 

Structural work is also in progress on this railway line, causing some passenger trains to operate in a controlled manner. The entire project aims to modernize and make the railway infrastructure safe. The use of LHB coaches will enable trains to run at 160 km/hr, saving passengers time and providing a more convenient and secure travel experience.

 

Trials for high-speed trains on the Gaya-Dhanbad railway line were conducted on April 4, 2025, May 24, 2025, and September 2025. All cautionary measures have been taken, and the final phase of railway track renovation is underway. The entire signaling system has been modernized to enhance safety, and automatic signaling systems have been improved.

 

The use of route relay interlocking systems will ensure safe operations of trains at a speed of 160 km/hr. The upcoming changes will benefit passengers by providing a faster and more reliable travel experience on the DDUGJ-Gaya-Dhanbad railway line.
