On Saturday morning, there was an incident on the Vande Bharat Express between Bharatkoop and Badousa railway stations. A stone was thrown at the train, which caused the glass of one coach to break, leading to panic among the travelers.
The train had just left the Chitrakoot Dharm Karvi station around 10:30 AM, heading towards Banda. As it reached near gate number 485 at the Patoda railway crossing, a stone hit the C-2 coach, breaking the glass and alarming the passengers, but thankfully no one was hurt.
A woman passenger traveling from Banaras to Khajuraho alerted the RPF personnel stationed in the coach about the incident. Following this, Rakesh Kumar Mishra, the head constable on duty, informed the RPF post at Chitrakoot Dharm Karvi around 11:20 AM.
RPF officials quickly arrived at the scene, and during their investigation, they found a suspicious individual. The suspect was identified as a 38-year-old man from the local area, who admitted to using a catapult to hunt birds and accidentally hit the train.
The RPF seized the catapult and stone from him, and he was arrested under relevant sections of the railway act. The case has been escalated to the Intelligence Bureau due to its seriousness, and the accused was presented in court, where he was sent to jail.
