The Kolkata-Guwahati Sleeper Vande Bharat Express is set to run between the cities of Kolkata and Guwahati. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off this train on 18-19 January. The train will offer sleeper class services, making travel between West Bengal and Assam more affordable.
The Railway Minister announced that the Sleeper Vande Bharat Express will start operating in the next 15-20 days, possibly around 18 or 19 January. The ticket prices for this train will be lower compared to air travel, catering to the middle-class passengers. The upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal and Assam are also being considered.
Railway Minister Vaishnaw revealed that the fare for the Sleeper Vande Bharat Express will range from Rs 2300 to Rs 3600. This is significantly cheaper than the airfare for Guwahati-Hawda flights. The train will showcase regional hospitality, serving Bengali cuisine on the Kolkata route and Assamese food on the Guwahati route.
