Revealing a scam involving job promises in the Patna Metro and Ayushman Bharat scheme, a group of fraudsters has been uncovered by the police. The seriousness of the case is increasing as more details come to light.
A group of fraudsters has been caught deceiving young people by offering them fake jobs as data entry operators and electricians in the Patna Metro. They created a fake company named ‘Urmila Education and Services Private Limited’ to scam applicants and collected money from them under the guise of securing employment.
The group advertised fake job vacancies on their website for positions in the Patna Metro, leading to over 2500 youth applying and paying an application fee of around ₹1200 each. Further payments were extorted from the applicants under the pretext of finalizing their employment.
The fraudsters were also involved in a scam related to the Ayushman Bharat scheme, where they collaborated with private hospitals to deceive rural residents into obtaining fake medical treatment through forged Ayushman cards. The police are investigating the role of private hospitals in this fraudulent scheme.
The main suspect of the group, Akhilesh Yadav, has been arrested in connection with a liquor case by the Danapur police. The police are preparing to interrogate him and seek remand for further investigation. It is believed that more names and fraudulent methods may come to light during the remand process.
The fraudsters have been active for nearly two years and have swindled millions of rupees. The police have seized 20 admit cards of applicants from the scammers, which will be used to unravel the entire scam. The police are determined to dismantle this network completely to prevent further deception.
