Passengers traveling on unreserved tickets now have a new digital option for their journeys. The Ministry of Railways has launched the RailOne app to streamline ticket bookings. Starting from January 14, 2026, travelers using this app will receive a 3% discount on their total fare. This special offer is part of a six-month pilot project that will continue until July 14, 2026.

How to Get the Discount
The 3% discount is available specifically for unreserved tickets, including General, Suburban, and Non-suburban categories. To avail of this benefit, passengers must book their tickets through the RailOne app. The payment must be made using digital modes such as UPI, debit cards, credit cards, or net banking. The app also supports the R-Wallet, where the existing 3% cashback rule remains in force alongside this new offer.
UTS App to Shut Down Soon
Railway authorities have confirmed that the UTS on Mobile app will be completely discontinued starting March 1, 2026. From that date onwards, RailOne will become the exclusive platform for booking unreserved tickets digitally. Passengers are currently receiving alerts to switch to the new app to avoid any issues. Users can easily log in to RailOne using their existing IRCTC or UTS credentials without needing to create a new account.
New Features and Updates
The RailOne app is designed as a ‘SuperApp’ to replace multiple older applications. Recent software updates have added support for Divyangjan concessions for unreserved journeys and season passes. A review of this pilot scheme is scheduled for May 2026 to decide if the discount and app features will be extended further. It is important to note that this discount is not available for tickets purchased at physical railway counters.
