A Feat of Engineering Excellence
Constructed by Afcons Infrastructure Limited under the guidance of Konkan Railway Corporation Limited and Northern Railways, the project is a testament to Indian ingenuity. The construction process was a massive undertaking, involving over 1,300 workers and 300 engineers. To ensure structural integrity, the bridge utilizes high-grade materials from partners like Adani Cement, Ambuja Cements, ACC, and AMNS India. With a total project cost of approximately ₹1,486 crore, the bridge is designed to last and features India’s first 780-meter-long blast protection platform.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently highlighted that the bridge is more than just a transit point; it is a symbol of regional progress and modernization. Since the commencement of Vande Bharat services in June 2025 and the subsequent extension of the Srinagar–Jammu Vande Bharat route in April 2026, travel has become significantly more efficient for both locals and tourists.
