Indian Railways is all set to launch a new Vande Bharat Express connecting Asarva in Ahmedabad to Udaipur City in Rajasthan. This new service is designed to improve travel for traders, tourists, and students moving between Gujarat and Rajasthan. The inaugural special train will run on February 16, 2026, while the regular commercial service for passengers will start from February 18. This addition marks the sixth Vande Bharat train for Gujarat and will be managed by the North Western Railway zone.
What are the Timings and Stops?
The train will run six days a week, taking a break on Tuesdays. It offers a quick travel option, covering the journey in about 4 hours and 15 minutes. This service connects tribal and semi-urban areas by stopping at Himatnagar, Dungarpur, and Zawar stations. These stops will make it easier for people in Sabarkantha and Aravalli districts to access premium rail travel.
- Train 26963 (Udaipur to Asarva): Leaves Udaipur at 06:10 AM and reaches Asarva at 10:25 AM.
- Train 26964 (Asarva to Udaipur): Leaves Asarva at 05:45 PM and reaches Udaipur at 10:00 PM.
Booking Details and Changes in Other Routes
Travellers can book their tickets starting February 15, 2026, through the IRCTC website or at railway counters. The train features 8 coaches with AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car options. Although exact fares are being updated, estimates suggest a Chair Car ticket might cost between ₹800 and ₹1100, while the Executive Class could range from ₹1500 to ₹1800.
To manage resources better, railways have decided to stop two other Vande Bharat trains that had low passenger numbers. The Udaipur-Jaipur service will stop running from February 14, and the Udaipur-Agra Cantt service will be discontinued from February 15. The new Asarva-Udaipur route is expected to serve a higher number of daily passengers.
