Indian Railways has officially restored a crucial rail corridor in Uttar Pradesh with the launch of the Kasganj-Lucknow (Aishbagh) Daily Express. Inaugurated on July 26, 2026, this new service marks the end of an 11-year wait for passengers, following the successful conversion of the route from meter gauge to broad gauge. The service is set to provide a seamless travel experience for thousands of commuters, traders, and students across the region.
- Train Numbers: 15312 (Kasganj to Aishbagh) and 15311 (Aishbagh to Kasganj).
- Regular Operations: Commencing daily from July 27, 2026.
- Route Coverage: Ujhani, Budaun, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Lakhimpur, and Sitapur.
- Modern Rolling Stock: Equipped with 16 LHB coaches, including AC and non-AC chair cars.
Strategic Connectivity and Schedule
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted that this restoration is a significant boost to the state’s rail infrastructure. The 15312 Express is scheduled to depart from Kasganj at 04:20 AM, reaching the Aishbagh station in Lucknow by 01:00 PM. By connecting these key cities, the train offers a faster and more reliable alternative for daily commuters and long-distance travelers alike.
Enhanced Passenger Experience
The introduction of 16 modern LHB coaches ensures a safer and more comfortable journey. The train composition includes a power car, SLR, general second class, as well as both non-AC and AC chair car compartments, catering to diverse passenger needs. Railway officials from the Izzatnagar Division, including DRM Veena Sinha and PRO Safdar Hussain, confirmed that this is a permanent daily service.
The inaugural special, numbered 05018, was ceremoniously flagged off by Union Ministers of State B.L. Verma from Ujhani and Jitin Prasad from Puranpur. This new route is expected to serve as a lifeline for the local economy, benefiting farmers, professionals, and tourists who rely on the rail network for affordable and efficient connectivity across Uttar Pradesh.
