Rajiv Kumar Singh confirmed the transformation of the Nootan Talkies building, a landmark that has remained closed for decades, into a functional community space. While infrastructure work is moving forward, the railway administration is also balancing ongoing maintenance requirements. On July 26 and 27, 2026, certain MEMU and EMU services experienced cancellations or partial operations due to essential engineering works and track maintenance across the Asansol and Southern Railway divisions. However, railway officials highlighted that, in response to direct public feedback and demand, several previously canceled Jhajha-Sitarampur MEMU trains were successfully restored to service.
