Western Railway Update: Special trains extended for summer rush, check routes and dates

Western Railway has extended the operations of several special trains to manage the heavy rush of passengers during the upcoming summer months. This decision, taken after approval from the Railway Board, will benefit passengers traveling on high-demand routes from Surat, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai. These services, previously scheduled for shorter durations, will now continue through June and July 2026 to provide a comfortable travel experience.

Key Routes with Extended Services

The extension covers major routes connecting Gujarat and Maharashtra to various parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh. According to the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, these ‘Train on Demand’ services are specifically designed to accommodate the extra crowd of students, migrant workers, and families during the holiday season. Booking for these extended services has already started at railway counters and on the official IRCTC website.

• Dadar-Bhusaval Special: Services extended until July 31, 2026
• Udhna-Hajipur Route: Operations will now continue until June 2026
• Ahmedabad-Patna Special: Trains to run throughout April and May 2026
• Indore-Khadki Weekly: Extended until July 30, 2026
• Bandra Terminus-Danapur: Additional trips added to handle peak summer demand
