North Western Railway has introduced several changes to manage the anticipated rush during the 2026 summer season. A new weekly special train service will start between Lalkuan and Rajkot to accommodate more passengers. Alongside this new service, the railway department has extended the operating period for 10 pairs of special trains across various routes. However, passengers on the Jaipur-Bandikui section should expect some changes in schedule due to infrastructure maintenance at Dausa station.
Lalkuan to Rajkot Weekly Special Train Schedule
The railway will operate train number 05045 and 05046 between Lalkuan and Rajkot on a weekly basis during April 2026. Train 05045 will depart from Lalkuan every Sunday from April 5 to April 26. The return train, 05046, will leave Rajkot every Monday starting April 6 until April 27. This train is equipped with 20 coaches, including two AC III tier, one AC II tier, 11 sleeper class, and four general second class coaches. The route covers important stations such as Bareilly, Mathura, Jaipur, and Jodhpur, providing better connectivity for these regions.
Extension of 10 Pairs of Special Trains
To assist travelers during the busy summer vacation months, the operating duration for 10 pairs of special trains has been extended. These trains connect major cities including Ajmer, Bandra Terminus, Hisar, and Valsad. The Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, Amit Sudarshan, stated that these extensions aim to provide a smooth travel experience and handle the extra crowd. Most of these services will now remain active until July 2026, depending on the specific route and demand.

Service Disruptions on Jaipur-Bandikui Track
Rail operations on the Jaipur-Bandikui track will face temporary changes on April 2 and April 5, 2026. This is due to essential non-interlocking work at Dausa station for track and signaling upgrades. Approximately 12 trains will be impacted, with some being partially cancelled or short-terminated. For instance, the Mathura-Jaipur train will only run up to Alwar, and the Agra Fort-Ajmer service will terminate at Bandikui. Passengers are advised to check the NTES app for real-time updates before starting their journey.
