Indian Railways has announced the operation of special train services between Kolkata and Yog Nagari Rishikesh to handle the extra rush of passengers during the summer months and the Char Dham Yatra. These trains, numbered 04311 and 04312, will provide a direct connection for travelers from West Bengal and Bihar towards the pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand. The service is scheduled to run from mid-April to July 2026.
Train Schedule and Frequency for Passengers
The Kolkata-Rishikesh special train will run once a week to facilitate smooth travel for the public. Train 04312 will depart from Yog Nagari Rishikesh every Friday at 10:20 PM, starting from April 17, 2026. This train will reach Kolkata at 8:00 AM on the third day of its journey. For the return trip, Train 04311 will leave Kolkata every Sunday at 1:55 PM, starting from April 19, 2026, and will reach its destination at 11:30 PM the following day.
Key Stoppages and Onboard Facilities
This train will stop at several major railway stations, making it convenient for passengers from different cities to board. The route includes significant locations in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh. Passengers can choose from Sleeper, Second AC, Third AC, and General coaches based on their preference. Indian Railways has also confirmed that E-Catering and bedroll facilities will be provided during the journey. The booking for the Rishikesh-bound journey has already started.
