The construction of the much-awaited Kali Mori underpass in Alwar is set to gain momentum as the railway department has scheduled a block for May 10. This long-pending project has faced several delays since it originally started in 2022. The upcoming block will allow essential engineering works to take place, bringing relief to local commuters who have been waiting for this infrastructure connectivity for years.
What is the current status of the Kali Mori underpass project?
The Kali Mori underpass project in Alwar is a significant development aimed at easing traffic congestion. Initially started in June 2022 with a completion target of December 2022, the work faced multiple halts due to technical and administrative reasons. Recently, the Rail Minister announced a budget allocation of 120 crore rupees for various railway projects in the region, which includes this underpass. PWD officials had previously stated that progress was dependent on getting a formal block from the railway authorities to execute the main structure work.
