Indian Railways has officially announced the launch of a new, regular weekly Amrit Bharat Express service connecting Gorakhpur Junction and Delhi Junction. This development marks a significant upgrade for long-distance passengers looking for affordable and comfortable non-AC travel options between Uttar Pradesh and the national capital. Passengers can now look forward to a permanent weekly schedule as the Railway Board has approved the operation under official train numbers.
- Permanent weekly schedule introduced for the route starting August 27, 2026.
- Train numbers assigned are 15095 and 15096, transitioning from the previous special train service.
- Rake composition includes 22 coaches designed for high-amenity, budget-friendly travel.
Schedule and Timings
The newly approved service ensures well-planned weekly departures to suit passenger convenience. Train number 15095 will depart from Gorakhpur every Thursday at 10:45 PM, reaching Delhi Junction the following day at 12:50 PM. For the return journey, train number 15096 will depart from Delhi Junction every Friday at 2:10 PM, with a 2:00 PM departure from Old Delhi, arriving at Gorakhpur at 6:30 AM the next morning. This schedule has been finalized through coordination between the North Eastern Railway and Northern Railway zones.
Route and Coach Composition
To ensure widespread connectivity, the train features scheduled stops at key stations including Gorakhpur, Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda, Burhwal, Sitapur Junction, Bareilly, Moradabad, and Ghaziabad. The train utilizes a robust rake composition of 22 coaches, consisting of 11 general second-class coaches, 8 sleeper class coaches, and one pantry car.
