According to recent inspections by Minister Savitri Thakur and Dhar MLA Neena Verma, the rail operations on this section are expected to start by July 2026. The 38.26 km stretch between Pithampur and Dhar has already undergone successful engine tower wagon trials. Officials have noted that approximately 800 meters of track laying is complete inside the Tihi tunnel, and the entire tunnel finishing work should conclude by June or July.
