Indian Railways has decided to convert the Govindpuri-Aligarh special train into a regular MEMU service to meet the increasing demand of passengers. Starting from April 13, 2026, this train will operate six days a week, providing better connectivity for commuters traveling between Kanpur and Aligarh. This decision follows the successful run of the special service on this route.

What is the schedule and timing for the Govindpuri-Aligarh MEMU?
Train number 64703 will depart from Govindpuri at 07:20 and reach Aligarh Junction at 12:40. For the return journey, train number 64704 will leave Aligarh at 13:40 and arrive at Govindpuri in the evening. The train will stop at Panki Dham station at 07:33 on its way to Aligarh and at 18:40 during the return trip. This service will cover a distance of approximately 306 kilometers with 13 intermediate stops.
Key details of the new regular train service
According to North Central Railway CPRO Shasikant Tripathi, the new MEMU service will consist of 11 coaches. The existing fast MEMU special train 04189/04190 will complete its final journey on April 11, 2026, before the regular service takes over. This train will be available for passengers on all days of the week except Sundays. The updated schedule is now available on the National Train Enquiry System for passengers to plan their travel.
