Indian Railways has announced the operation of special train services to manage the significant increase in passenger traffic during the summer vacation period. These trains will run between Anand Vihar Terminal and Jogbani, and New Delhi and Supaul. The primary objective of these services is to provide passengers with a better chance of securing confirmed tickets during the busy travel months from April to July.
How will these special trains benefit passengers?
Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer of Northern Railway, stated that these trains will be equipped with AC, Sleeper, and General coaches. This configuration ensures that travelers across different budget segments can find suitable accommodation. The operation of these trains is expected to provide substantial relief to people traveling to and from states such as Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Odisha.

- Service Period: These special trains will remain operational from April until July 2024.
- Routes: One train will connect Anand Vihar Terminal to Jogbani, while the other will run between New Delhi and Supaul.
- Additional Services: Central Railway has also planned over 2,100 summer special trains to handle the holiday rush between April 15 and July 31.
