Railway crackdown on ticket touts: 66 arrested and 250 IDs blocked in Jodhpur Division

The North Western Railway’s Jodhpur Division conducted a special drive against ticket touts during 2025-26. This operation focused on major stations including Jodhpur, Bhagat Ki Kothi, Merta Road, Samdari, and Jaisalmer. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) took strict action to stop the illegal sale of tickets.

What were the results of the crackdown?

The RPF arrested 66 ticket touts and collected a total fine of ₹4.03 lakh. To stop further illegal activities, the railway authorities blocked approximately 250 suspicious user IDs used for black marketing tickets. A total of 63 cases were registered under Section 143 of the Railway Act 1989.

Senior Divisional Security Commissioner (Security) Nitish Kumar Sharma stated that the drive was conducted under the guidance of DRM Anurag Tripathi. Senior DCM Hitesh Yadav advised passengers to use only official platforms like the IRCTC app, website, or PRS counters for booking tickets.
