In a major boost for connectivity in the national capital, the Ministry of Railways has officially approved new stoppages at Adarsh Nagar Railway Station. This development, aimed at easing the commute for millions of residents in North and West Delhi, was formally announced on July 11, 2026, following a request submitted by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Passengers can now board key trains closer to home, avoiding the congestion and long travel times associated with reaching the primary terminals of New Delhi or Old Delhi.
- Train No. 14331 Delhi-Kalka Express will now halt at Adarsh Nagar.
- Train No. 14053 Delhi-Daulatpur Chowk Himachal Express will now provide service at this station.
- The decision aims to provide significant relief to commuters in North and West Delhi.
- The move specifically benefits tourists heading to Himachal Pradesh and pilgrims traveling to Punjab.
Enhanced Connectivity for Delhi Commuters
For residents living in the sprawling suburbs of North and West Delhi, reaching major railway hubs has often been a logistical challenge. By introducing these stoppages, the Indian Railways is effectively decentralizing access to long-distance travel. The Delhi-Kalka Express is set to become a vital link for passengers heading toward major destinations including Kurukshetra, Chandigarh, and Kalka. Similarly, the inclusion of the Himachal Express serves as a convenient gateway for those planning trips to the mountainous regions of Himachal Pradesh.
A Commitment to Public Convenience
Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw conveyed the official approval to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta through a formal communication. This initiative is being viewed as a proactive step toward improving public amenities and addressing the daily travel needs of city residents. Chief Minister Gupta has extended her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister Vaishnaw for their swift action on this request. This infrastructure update is expected to save substantial travel time for thousands of daily passengers, making regional transit more efficient and accessible for everyone in the capital region.
