In a significant move to boost connectivity across northern India, the Indian Railway Board officially announced on July 10, 2026, the launch of a new daily express service and the extension of a popular existing route. These updates are set to improve travel convenience for commuters moving between the capital region and the hill states, providing better access to key towns and transit hubs.
Key highlights of the new railway service updates include:
• Launch of the new daily 14502/14501 Kartoli-Ambala City Express.
• Extension of the existing 14053/14054 Delhi-Daulatpur Chowk Express up to Kartoli.
• Enhanced connectivity for passengers across Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh.
New Daily Express Service
The newly approved 14502/14501 Kartoli-Ambala City Express will operate on a daily basis to cater to the growing demand for regional travel. According to the official schedule, train number 14502 will depart from Kartoli at 08:30 hrs and is slated to arrive at Ambala City at 12:55 hrs. For the return leg, train number 14501 will depart from Ambala City at 16:15 hrs, reaching Kartoli at 20:25 hrs.
To ensure maximum reach for local commuters, this service will feature strategic halts at Daulatpur Chowk, Amb Andaura, Una Himachal, Nangal Dam, Anandpur Sahib, Rupnagar, Morinda, Sirhind, and Rajpura.
Extension of Delhi-Kartoli Route
In addition to the new train, the Railway Board has sanctioned the extension of the 14053/14054 Delhi-Daulatpur Chowk Express, which will now run all the way to Kartoli. This service will be rebranded as the Delhi-Kartoli Express, providing a direct link for passengers travelling from the national capital.
The revised 14053 Delhi-Kartoli Express is scheduled to depart from Delhi at 22:50 hrs, with an arrival time at Kartoli at 07:50 hrs the following morning. For those travelling towards the capital, the 14054 Kartoli-Delhi Express will depart from Kartoli at 20:55 hrs and arrive at Delhi at 05:00 hrs. These timings are designed to offer convenient overnight travel options for business and leisure passengers alike.
