North Central Railway has announced major traffic blocks on the Jhansi-Manikpur rail section in Uttar Pradesh to facilitate essential infrastructure upgrades. The work, involving double-line construction and non-interlocking operations in the Mauranipur-Rora section, is scheduled between July 27 and July 29, 2026. These improvements are critical for enhancing safety and increasing the operational speed of future train services across the region.
Key updates for passengers include:
- Six train services fully cancelled between July 27 and July 29.
- Two express trains diverted via alternative routes.
- Strategic regulation of express and special trains to manage traffic flow.
- Passengers advised to check the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) before starting their journey.
Details of Cancelled Services
To accommodate the construction work, several key services have been suspended. The 11801 Gwalior–Prayagraj Express is cancelled from Gwalior on July 27 and 28, while the 11802 Prayagraj–Gwalior Express will not run from Prayagraj on July 28 and 29. Furthermore, daily MEMU services between Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi and Banda (64613/64614) are cancelled on July 27 and 28. Additionally, the 64611/64612 Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi-Manikpur MEMU will remain cancelled on July 28.
Diverted and Regulated Trains
Two express services will operate on altered paths to bypass the construction zone. The 19666 Udaipur–Khajuraho Express (July 27) will run via Delwara–Birari, while the 19665 Khajuraho–Udaipur Express (July 28) will take the route via Birari–Delwara–Jhansi.
Beyond these changes, several trains face regulation to maintain safety standards: the 12176 Gwalior-Howrah Chambal Express will be regulated by 60 minutes on July 21 and 28, with a similar 60-minute delay for the Agra Cantt-Howrah variant on July 23. The 04191 Gwalior-Rewa Special will also see a 60-minute regulation on July 22. Additionally, the 11801 Gwalior-Prayagraj Express underwent 120-minute reschedulings across seven trips between July 19 and July 26.
Railway officials recommend that all passengers stay updated via official Indian Railways portals. Given the nature of these infrastructure works, travelers are advised to plan for extra travel time and make alternative arrangements if their specific train is impacted.
