Indian Railways is set to transform travel for millions of devotees visiting the sacred Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan. North Western Railway (NWR) General Manager Pankaj Sharma conducted a site inspection on July 21, 2026, marking a significant step forward for the new Khatu Shyam Sundarpura railway station. This project is designed to streamline travel for pilgrims and reduce the current logistical burden on existing stations.

- Strategic Location: Situated on the Sikar–Ringas rail section, between Palsana and Baori Thikria.
- Proximity: Located 11 to 12.3 km from the temple, significantly closer than the current 17–19 km distance from Ringas.
- Budget: Estimated project cost of Rs 20 crore.
- Capacity: Designed to handle 30,000 to 35,000 passengers daily.
- Timeline: Construction is expected to commence by late 2026 or early 2027.
Strategic Development for Pilgrims
The project was officially announced by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in June 2026 after constructive dialogues with the Shri Khatu Shyam Ji Temple Trust. By reducing the distance to the temple, the railway aims to provide a more convenient transit point for the massive influx of devotees who visit the region throughout the year. The Rajasthan government has pledged its full support by providing the essential land required for the development.

Initially planned as a halt station, the facility will boast modern passenger amenities while incorporating architectural elements that reflect the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan. The station is being built with a forward-looking approach, including provisions for future upgrades as passenger traffic grows.
