Maintenance teams have been ordered to conduct rigorous checks on railway tracks, ballast, and signaling systems to prevent technical failures caused by heavy downpours.
These precautionary measures come in response to recent alerts from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), which has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorms across 18 states, including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. By leveraging historical data, the railway aims to proactively address issues at known waterlogging hotspots before they impact passenger services.
