Adityapur Station Nears Completion; New Train Services Expected to Alleviate Traffic at Tatanagar Station in Coming Months.

Adityapur Station Readiness

Adityapur station, part of the Chakradharpur division, is nearing completion and is set to accommodate several trains, including the Swarnarekha Express and Tata-Chhapra and South Bihar Express services, in the near future. This initiative aims to alleviate the congestion of passengers and traffic at Tatanagar station. With the expectation of launching multiple train services within the next one to two months, Adityapur station has undergone significant renovations, which include new station buildings, passenger restrooms, ticket counters, and an improved approach road.

Current Facilities and Class Status

Currently classified as a Class-5 station based on ticket sales, Adityapur railway station sells an average of 800 tickets daily. Previously, the station offered only basic amenities such as drinking water taps, toilets, and passenger sheds. However, under new planning initiatives, there is a concerted effort to enhance passenger facilities significantly. At present, the station does not serve any mail or express trains; it only has stoppages for 13 passenger trains.

Pending Developments and Challenges

While preparations for the introduction of express trains are in progress, several infrastructural projects at Adityapur station remain incomplete. Among the ongoing developments are the construction of three new lifts, a passenger shed at the platform, and an automatic ladder. The survey for these facilities has been conducted, and work is being expedited. Fortunately, a new foot overbridge has been completed; however, the area remains cluttered with debris due to unfinished tasks, and the main road connecting Akashvani Chowk to 32 numbers remains narrow, causing potential traffic issues for incoming passengers if not addressed promptly.
