Chief Public Relations Officer Sumit Kumar confirmed that the notification for train operations from Bahraich to Nepalganj Road has already been issued. The services are likely to begin in the first week of May 2026 or within two weeks of the latest inspection. This follows the approval of a new timetable by the Railway Ministry in January 2026, which includes three pairs of trains for this extension. Safety trials and speed tests have already recorded a maximum speed of 120 km/h on this track.
