Passengers traveling between Bhagalpur and the Seemanchal region will get significant relief as the Railway has extended the operation of the unreserved special train. The service for train numbers 03407 and 03408 will now continue until July 10, 2026. This decision follows a request from Eastern Railway to the Northeast Frontier Railway Headquarters in Maligaon.

What are the new dates for the train extension

The special train was originally scheduled to stop running on June 22, 2026. However, the new extension will be effective from June 23, 2026, and will last until July 10, 2026. During this added period, both train numbers 03407 and 03408 will complete 18 additional trips each.

Why was this train service extended

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Anoop Kumar Singh stated that the extension was decided due to constant demand from passengers. There is a heavy daily commute between Katihar and Bhagalpur. Additionally, the train was introduced to help people because road connectivity between Bhagalpur and Seemanchal was disrupted due to damage to the Vikramshila Setu bridge.
