Passengers can book these lockers in just 30 seconds by scanning a QR code. The system uses a mobile-based interface where the user enters their mobile number and receives an OTP. This digital method eliminates the need for physical keys, as the passenger mobile phone acts as the access key to the locker. This initiative is part of the railway push toward a Digital India and offers a reliable way to keep luggage safe during transit.
Charges for different locker sizes and duration
The charges for using these digital lockers depend on the size of the compartment and the time selected. Passengers can choose between 6 hours and 24 hours based on their requirement. Currently, this facility is located near the AC waiting area on platform number one. Below is the detailed fee structure for the service.
