When will Patalpani Heritage Train start and what is the status of coaches?

The train will be operational from the first week of August 2026. Currently, the coaches are in Bikaner for maintenance work. They are expected to return to Mhow by the end of July 2026. Once the coaches arrive, the railway department will complete the final preparations to start the service. It is also noted that the Patalpani-Kalakund section was given heritage status on August 19, 2025, though the heritage corridor project is currently paused due to pending forest department clearances.

What is the update on the Indore-Dahod rail project tunnel?

The construction of the 3-kilometer long tunnel at Tihi under the Indore-Dahod rail project is targeted for completion by September 2026. Concrete lining and track laying work are in the final stages, with about one kilometer of track already laid. After the work finishes, the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) will inspect the tunnel in September. Following the approval, train services between Indore and Dhar are expected to start in October 2026.
