North Central Railway is moving ahead with plans to provide direct rail access for passengers from Purvanchal to the Noida International Airport in Jewar. A new 84-kilometer railway line between Palwal and Chola is currently under preparation to bridge this gap. This project will ensure that people traveling from cities like Prayagraj can reach the airport campus without any transport hurdles.
What are the latest updates on the Palwal-Chola rail link?
The survey work for the 84-km stretch between Palwal and Chola has been completed, and the Detailed Project Report is now in its final stages. According to Shashikant Tripathi, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Central Railway, construction work on this new track is expected to begin shortly. The Ministry of Railways has also granted in-principle approval for an underground railway station right inside the Jewar Airport premises. This specific rail line will connect Rundhi in Palwal to the Chola station, making it easier for trains from the Prayagraj route to access the airport area directly.
