Why are the ATVM machines at Raebareli station not working?
The primary reason for the shutdown of three ATVMs is the pending tender process. According to Commerce Inspector In-charge DD Shukla, the department is working to finalize the tenders soon and official correspondence has already been initiated. Additionally, two other machines encountered technical issues five months ago and were moved to the Lucknow headquarters for maintenance. This has left the station with no functional vending machines for nearly half a year.
How is the current ticket system affecting daily travelers?
Around 35 pairs of passenger trains pass through Raebareli daily, catering to thousands of commuters. Although the station has four ticket counters, usually only one or two are operational at a time. This leads to massive crowds and pushing at the counters, particularly when trains are about to depart. Passengers are demanding immediate restoration of the machines to save time and avoid the daily rush at the windows.
