Indian Railways to run special trains for UPTET examinees from July 2 to 4, check full list

The Northern Railway and North Eastern Railway have announced the operation of several special unreserved trains for candidates appearing in the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026. These special arrangements are made to accommodate over 19.94 lakh candidates traveling to 955 examination centers across 60 districts from July 2 to July 4. Railway officials have set up help desks and deployed additional security personnel at major stations to manage the expected rush of examinees.

Details of special trains from Kanpur and Lucknow

Railways have scheduled specific MEMU and unreserved services to ensure students reach their centers on time. In the Kanpur region, special trains from Jhansi to Kanpur were operated at 1:45 PM and 6:30 PM with stops at Orai and Kalpi. A MEMU train from Jhansi to Banda was rescheduled to 1:30 PM to assist candidates traveling via Kanpur to Chitrakootdham Karwi. For students returning after the exam, a train from Kanpur to Jhansi and Lucknow departed at 7 PM, while another service for Fatehpur and Prayagraj left at 6:30 PM.

Security arrangements and official guidelines

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Samarth Gupta stated that these trains were launched to provide safe and convenient travel for thousands of candidates. To ensure a smooth examination process, security officials have implemented strict rules at stations and centers. Pink Petrol and Anti-Romeo squads are deployed for the safety of female candidates. Additionally, authorities have ordered the closure of cyber cafes and photocopy shops within a 200-meter radius of the exam centers. Candidates are advised to use the NTES app or dial 139 for real-time train status updates.
