Indian Railways has announced the operation of a special train service between Saharsa in Bihar and Yashwantpur in Bengaluru to manage the heavy rush of passengers during the summer vacation. The Saharsa-Yashwantpur Special Express (05551/05552) will provide direct connectivity to South India, making it easier for people to travel for work or leisure. This initiative by the Samastipur Division aims to provide a comfortable journey with modern facilities.
Train Schedule and Operation Dates
The Saharsa-Yashwantpur Special Express is scheduled to run for a limited period starting from April 16, 2026. Train number 05551 will depart from Saharsa every Thursday at 8:25 PM and reach Yashwantpur at 10:30 PM the next day. This train will complete a total of 3 trips from the Bihar side. On the return journey, train number 05552 will leave Yashwantpur every Sunday at 7:00 AM from April 19 to May 3, 2026, stopping at various stations before reaching Saharsa.
Stoppages and Coach Facilities
The train will be equipped with modern LHB coaches to ensure passenger safety and comfort. These include General, Sleeper, and AC 3 Tier Economy coaches. The train will follow a comprehensive route across several states, stopping at major railway stations to help passengers from different regions.
