The festival of colors is approaching, and the rush for train tickets has already started increasing. To ensure passengers can travel home comfortably, the South East Central Railway (SECR) has announced the operation of special trains for the Holi season in 2026. These trains are specifically planned to clear the extra rush of passengers traveling from Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra towards Bihar, Jharkhand, and New Delhi during late February and early March.

Complete Schedule of Holi Special Trains 2026

The railway administration has finalized the list of 12 special train trips that will run during the peak festival days. These trains will connect major stations like Durg, Bilaspur, and Gondia to destinations such as Patna, Chhapra, and Nizamuddin. Passengers are advised to check the departure dates carefully before booking.

Booking Rules and Fare Details

Since these are categorized as special festival trains, the ticket prices will be slightly higher than regular trains. Passengers will have to pay special fares which are typically 1.3 times the normal rate. The booking for these trains is now open on the IRCTC website and at reservation counters. Most of these trains have reserved coaches, so you cannot travel without a confirmed ticket. If you are on the waiting list, you can opt for the Vikalp scheme to get a chance for a confirmed berth in alternate trains.
