Western Railway has unveiled a new weekly special train service connecting Veraval in Gujarat to Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh to address the rising travel demand, particularly for pilgrims traveling across Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. This service will run for a total of eight trips in each direction throughout August and September 2026, offering improved connectivity for passengers along this key route.
- Train No. 04173 (Prayagraj-Veraval) runs every Thursday from August 6 to September 24, 2026.
- Train No. 04174 (Veraval-Prayagraj) runs every Friday from August 7 to September 25, 2026.
- The train composition includes 20 coaches, featuring 1 Third AC, 10 Sleeper, 7 General, and 2 Guard coaches.
- Bookings open on July 30, 2026, via the IRCTC website and PRS counters.
Schedule and Operational Details
According to Shri Amit Sudarshan, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, the service is strategically timed to facilitate smooth transit. Train No. 04173 departs Prayagraj at 10:10 AM every Thursday, arriving in Veraval at 6:15 PM the following day. The return leg, Train No. 04174, departs Veraval at 10:00 PM every Friday and reaches Prayagraj at 5:50 AM on Sundays.

The train is set to provide vital connectivity across multiple states, with major halts including Fatehpur, Govindpuri, Etawah, Tundla, Idgah Agra, Bharatpur, Bandikui, Jaipur, Kishangarh, Ajmer, Beawar, Marwar Junction, Falna, Sumerpur, Jawai Bandh, Abu Road, Palanpur, Mahesana, Viramgam, Surendranagar, Than, Wankaner, Rajkot, Navagadh, and Junagadh.
For passengers boarding or deboarding in Jaipur, the train offers convenient timings: Train No. 04173 reaches Jaipur at 11:05 PM and departs at 11:15 PM on Thursdays, while Train No. 04174 arrives at 3:40 PM and departs at 3:50 PM on Saturdays. Travelers are encouraged to book their tickets early through the official IRCTC portal or at any Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter once bookings commence on July 30, 2026.
