North Western Railway has introduced a series of updates for passengers traveling through Rajasthan. A new weekly special train service between Madar and Kolkata via Jaipur has commenced to manage the seasonal passenger rush. Alongside this, the railway administration has announced extensions for special trains and changes in the routes and stops of several premium trains including the Vande Bharat Express.
What are the timings and schedule for the Jaipur-Kolkata Special?
The railway has started the Madar-Kolkata-Madar weekly special service under train numbers 09605 and 09606. This train is scheduled to run for three trips to accommodate the crowd during summer vacations and elections. The detailed schedule is as follows:
- Train 09605: Departs Madar every Friday at 10:45 AM and reaches Kolkata on Saturday at 9:50 PM.
- Train 09606: Departs Kolkata every Sunday at 00:50 AM and reaches Madar on Monday at 2:00 PM.
- Operational Dates: The service runs from April 17 to May 3, 2026.
- Route: The train travels via Jaipur to provide direct connectivity for passengers in the region.
Updates on Vande Bharat Express and other route changes
Apart from the new special trains, the Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt Vande Bharat Express has received an experimental halt at Gandhinagar Jaipur station to improve passenger accessibility. Furthermore, the Hisar-Khadki weekly special has been extended for four additional trips until late April 2026. Travelers should also be aware that double line work and signaling upgrades between Churu and Sadulpur have led to the cancellation of 14 trains and route diversions for several others until April 30, 2026.
