Indian Railways has started a mega project to build a new high capacity freight corridor between Katni and Singrauli. This project is declared as a Special Railway Project and will focus on improving the movement of goods in Central India. The project aims to speed up the transport of coal and cement while reducing delays for other trains.

What are the key details of the Katni-Singrauli corridor project

The project involves the development of third and fourth rail lines over a corridor length of 264.070 kilometers. The total track development will cover approximately 578.675 kilometers with an estimated cost of 6779.87 crore rupees. The government has set a target to complete this work within 4 years.
