West Central Railway has converted several special trains into regular weekly services to help passengers from Jabalpur. These trains will now connect Jabalpur directly to Pune and Bandra (Mumbai) on a permanent basis. This change aims to make ticket booking easier and reduce travel costs for the common man.
Which trains became regular and what are their new numbers?
The railway department has assigned new numbers to these trains to mark their transition from special to regular status. This change also applies to the Rewa-CSMT route.
| Route | Old Number | New Number |
|---|---|---|
| Jabalpur – Pune | 02132/02131 | 20161/20162 |

The Pune and Bandra trains will operate three days a week, which will help in better connectivity for trade and employment.
Any issues reported during the launch?
While the first regular train to Pune departed fully booked, some passengers faced problems. The AC in the A-1 coach failed at Madan Mahal station, causing a delay of about 50 minutes. Some attendees also mentioned that water and cooler arrangements at the event site were not sufficient.
