Gorakhpur Railway Station: Multi-level parking facility opens for public, check fees and entry rules

Gorakhpur Railway Station started its multi-level car parking (MLCP) operations on Friday, June 12, 2026. The railway administration launched this facility to end the problem of unorganized parking and reduce traffic jams inside the station area. Currently, the ground floor is open for passengers to park their vehicles.

What are the parking charges and capacity?

The parking area covers about 2000 square meters and can hold 800 to 1000 motorcycles at once. It is designed for cars, bikes, scooters, and three-wheelers. The railway has set a clear fee structure for different vehicles as shown below:

For four-wheelers, the charge is ₹120 for 12 to 24 hours and ₹200 for over 24 hours. There is also a separate fee of ₹10 for helmet storage.

How to access the parking and what are the rules?

Passengers can enter the multi-level parking only through Gate Number 6 of Gorakhpur Railway Station. While the ground floor is operational, the railway plans to start parking for cars on the second and third levels soon, similar to mall parking systems. This is part of a larger ₹500 crore project to make the station look like a city center with airport-like facilities by May 2027.

Due to ongoing construction, some gates like 1, 2, and 6 are closed for general entry, and Gate 3 is permanently shut. Only pick-up and drop-off vehicles are allowed through Gate Number 5 and must exit via Gate Number 4 without stopping for long.
