Kurmi/Kudmi community has blocked trains at Parasnath station, causing many passengers to be stranded.



In Dumri, the Kurmi/Kudmi community has started an indefinite train blockade at Parasnath station. This protest is part of their ‘Rail Tekka, Dahr Chekka’ movement, and it has caused several trains to be stopped or rerouted.

As a result of this blockage, passengers trying to travel from Parasnath station faced significant difficulties. Many people had tickets to cities like Delhi, Patna, and Vindyachal but found themselves stuck at the station.


For instance, Anita Kumari and Rinki Devi had plans to go to Delhi and had booked their tickets two days ago. However, upon reaching the station, they learned that their train would not be running. This left them frustrated and unsure of how to return home.

Similarly, Awadhesh Singh from Fusro needed to reach Vindyachal, while Shobha Sharma, who arrived from Giridih, missed her train to Patna. Tourists who wanted to visit Bardhaman also faced delays, adding to the overall chaos.


With the trains not operating, passengers are now brainstorming ways to get back home. The situation remains uncertain as the blockade continues, affecting many commuters in the area.
