What’s inside:

Two old diesel engines at Varanasi’s Cantt station have been sent for repairs after nearly six years of inactivity.

Varanasi’s Cantt station has finally sent off two diesel engines that had been sitting idle for nearly six years. One engine was dispatched on Monday and the other on Tuesday. These engines were originally brought in for conversion to electric engines but ended up becoming useless.

The two engines had been parked in the dead line area of the yard, causing trouble with train shunting operations. The presence of these old engines was making it difficult to manage train movements, especially with other trains like Vande Bharat requiring maintenance.

With the engines gone, train services at the station can now run more smoothly. It will help reduce delays and improve the overall efficiency of train operations. Passengers should notice a difference in service soon.

The station director, Arpit Gupta, had been in touch with higher authorities to resolve this issue. His efforts paid off as the engines were finally sent to the BLW for repairs, addressing the concerns in the yard.

Now that these old engines are removed, the station can focus on better maintenance of trains. This change is expected to enhance the overall experience for travelers at Varanasi Cantt station.

Summary:

  • Two old diesel engines at Varanasi Cantt station have been sent for repairs.

  • The engines had been inactive for nearly six years.

  • Train shunting was affected due to their presence.

  • Removal of the engines will improve train operations.

  • The station director’s efforts led to their dispatch for maintenance.
