What’s inside:

The Vande Bharat Express has successfully completed a trial run at a speed of 160 km/h, showcasing advancements in Indian rail technology.

The Vande Bharat Express, our country’s semi-high-speed train, recently achieved a milestone by completing a trial run at 160 kilometers per hour. This test took place in the Prayagraj division of North Central Railway, specifically on the Mitawali-Mandarak rail section.

During the trial, an automated safety system called ‘Kavach’ was also tested and it performed very well. The General Manager of the NCR Prayagraj division congratulated the team on this successful trial, highlighting it as a sign of the growing technological capabilities of Indian Railways.

For passengers, this means faster train services are on the horizon. With the successful trial run, there are plans to start regular services at this speed in the coming months, making train travel quicker and more efficient.

Some important points from the trial include that the Kavach system was able to automatically reduce the train’s speed at certain stations and apply emergency brakes effectively when needed. This shows that safety is being prioritized as speeds increase.

Looking ahead, there have been other successful trials for the train engine at the same speed. With these developments, we can expect Vande Bharat trains to operate regularly at 160 km/h soon, connecting more places across the country efficiently.

Summary:

  • Vande Bharat Express completed a trial run at 160 km/h.

  • The trial took place in the Prayagraj division.

  • The Kavach safety system was successfully tested.

  • Faster services are expected to start soon.

  • Other successful tests indicate readiness for regular operation.
